Batu Feringgi - the beach!

We headed to Batu Feringgi for the evening. This is a really nice beach / resort area on the northernmost part of the island. Here it is - the Indian Ocean!

Lots of big resort hotels line the main road, but their property "ends" at the beach line.

On the beach there were people selling all sorts of "beach fun" - horseback rides, jet ski rides, para-sailing, atv rides, etc.

And "releases", agreements, safety, yeah, not high on the priority list (or anywhere on it).

We stayed for the sunset.

After the sun set, we had dinner at hawker stands, and then hit the night market to pick up some souvineers. Bargaining required! We found you had to start at around 1/3 of what things were marked at, and you usually could make a deal for about 1/2 price. Starting to walk away worked well!
